PRACTICE TO PASS
JOE TOWNSEND
Practice to Pass, 2025 Edition, is a composite of four practice examinations A, B, D, & E, in one convenient book. Each examination is representative of both the CORE of Knowledge and the Line of Service (NHA) test on the national examination.

NHA PRACTICE EXAM
JOE TOWNSEND
NHA Practice Exam
This practice examination is designed to help you study and prepare for the national licensing examination. Effective July 2022, the format will reflect the new 4 Domains of Practice. Domain I-Care Services, and Support, Domain II-Operations, Domain III-Environment and Quality, and Domain IV-Leadership and Strategy.
The national examination conducted by NAB currently has two distinct tests. The Core of Knowledge exam is comprised of 100 questions with 25 additional "pre-test" questions totaling 125. The Line of Service exam is a 60-question exam with 15 "pre-test" totaling 75. One must note that the "pre-test" questions do not count against your score, however, you will not know which ones count or don't count, so please answer all questions. The Core exam tests the skills and knowledge considered to be common for all long-term care and post-acute healthcare administrators. The questions in the Line of Service exam (LOS) are specific to the type of health care field for which the candidate is pursuing a license, e.g., Assisted Living, Hospice, Home Health, and Nursing Home Administration. The Line of Service questions on this practice examination are designed for those preparing for their nursing home administrator's license.
